About Jamie

My name is Jamie and here's a quick rundown of my writing career. I was born in Pisa, Italy famed for it's leaning tower. (Galileo and I have the same hometown, so who do you think gets all the coverage?) I grew up in Atlantic Beach, Florida which in many ways is the inspiration for the settings in both Animal Attraction and Sea of Love. I decided I wanted to be a writer somewhere around the age of 10 and never really changed my mind. I graduated from Fletcher High School (which is the name of the school in Prama) and went to college at the University of Southern California. (In every one of my books, one of the characters wants to go to USC.) In college I earned a degree in screenwriting and also managed to find time to fall in love. We got married soon after graduation and moved back to Florida. I have worked much of the time writing television for shows like The Mickey Mouse Club (yes, I knew Justin, Christina, Britney, Ryan and Keri before they were stars although they never write or call) The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo and cartoons like Clifford's Puppy Days, Jojo's Circus and Stanley. Today, when I'm not writing YA Fiction, I work as a producer at the Golf Channel.
